What does “ChinaPAX” mean? |
| |
| Pax is a Latin word meaning “peace, harmony”. The English word “peace” is a derivative of this Latin root. While many notions of peace may seem trite or naïve, we strongly believe that peace can be accomplished through language. As people reach an intimate understanding of another, they gain access to classic literature and modern popular culture in its original form-the native language. In this case, Chinese classic novels such as Romance of the Three Kingdoms and philosophical works can be met with fresh understanding, while the latest media as it emerges can be understood in its historical context. A sense of respect and cultural awareness is the launching point.
ChinaPax is a school that provides instruction in the Chinese language and fosters communication skills for students of all ages in a natural Chinese setting. We supports international peace, friendship and cross-cultural understanding through students studying in foreign countries. Staff, programs, and requirements.
